Women on Highways

The proximity to a hygienic loo with proper water inlet and outlet, a bed to lie on when your eyes are tired and your back begging for a sound sleep, a simple soap to wash your hands – all these could be actually a luxury item if you are on the roads.

And to add to the woes, if you are menstruating, the roads will not be kind to you. I remember being in the air and performing all the gymnastics mid air; all thanks to the Indian roads. You have to lucky to get access to a washroom is itself a feat. I was not that lucky and had roadside bushes to my rescue.

Why am I sharing these adventures (mis) of mine here ? Only to let you know that traveling helps you realise that simplest of the things could be a luxury. It feels you with gratitude and humility, and makes you appreciate little joys of life.
